The Mediterranean coasts inspired the names of Marari bags. Each bag is named after a coast that meets the Mediterranean. Dalyan is a coast in Turkey, and the word means “fishing.”

Kutnu is one of the traditional weaving arts of Gaziantep, a special fabric produced by combining silk and cotton threads. It is produced on hand looms with a geographical indication and is known for its dazzling shiny texture. Due to its hand-woven silk surface texture, it requires delicate use and care.

Combining contemporary designs with inherited traditional Turkish craftsmanship, the MARARI project undertakes the mission of understanding, solving with original designs, and promoting the Kutnu fabric, an important value of Gaziantep.

The surfaces of Dalyan, designed for dual use, are made of Kutnu fabric and leather. The inspiration for the dual-use design comes from the traditional usage story of Kutnu fabric by Anatolian women for generations. To utilize the cotton and silk surfaces of Kutnu fabric, Anatolian women have been designing and sewing dual-use trousers called “gündelik” (everyday) and “misafirlik” (guest) for centuries, continuing this tradition.

Marari artisans have masterfully expressed their passion and know-how in creating leather bags. A love of Turkish tradition, attention to detail and contemporary designs are the essence of our products.
Marari creates unique items using natural leather of the highest quality; therefore colour variations, marks or veins are all natural features that should not be considered blemishes.
To maintain and conserve your Marari item in its best condition, avoid prolonged and direct exposure to sources of light and heat.
Kutnu fabric products require careful handling due to their delicate silk texture, which is prone to snagging on rough surfaces.
We recommend storing the product in its original packaging.
Avoid contact with water, oils, perfumes or cosmetics. If your Marari item gets wet, remove any excess moisture without rubbing, dab with a soft cloth and let dry at room temperature.
Due to treatment processes, our leathers may cause slight colour transfer through friction, especially in humid environments.
Marari respects international standards of protection and conservation of the environment in all its products.
